The feeling of Occult symbols without subscribing to any in particular. Hilma af Klint was very much infliuenced by these symbols as well as a practicing occultist. Hilma and her group called the "five" took part in 100s of seances. She practiced seances, was told by a higher power to paint and when on to continue for 12 years.....

The following Houston Symphony poster designs were from 2023 and 2024 for "Oedipus Rex" and to commemorate the departure of their conductor.
“Oedipus Rex” was created with an innovative approach utilizing a 3D particle system, offering the flexibility for potential animation although ultimately printed posters. Symbolizing the tragic narrative of Oedipus Rex, the design evokes his metaphorical blindness and the ensuing devastation. It exudes a palpable darkness, immediately immersing viewers in the somber atmosphere of the story. This deliberate choice not only captures the essence of the narrative but also sets a tone that resonates with the intended emotional depth of the performance.
Estrada's final performance featured Mahler's "Resurrection Symphony," prompting a deep dive into the symphony's backstory. The initial focus was on integrating the poem "Die Auferstehung," a key source of inspiration for Mahler's symphony, into the first three posters. Drawing inspiration from Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock's words, which fueled Mahler's determination to complete Symphony No. 2. The first poster incorporated the entire poem in the top half, though rendered illegible at first glance. Upon closer inspection, the poignant line "I shall sail upwards, Rise again, yes rise again!" is revealed. The second and third posters evoked a handmade, tactile quality reminiscent of 20th century posters.
